Tamatorizaki Observatory

Located in the northeastern part of Ishigaki Island, this scenic spot boasts some of the most stunning views on the island. A gentle slope has been maintained from the parking lot to the top of the observatory, making it easily accessible even for wheelchair users.
From the observatory, you can gaze out over both the East China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, as well as take in a panoramic view of the Hirakubo Peninsula, known as the "Shisa's Tail." Along the path, tropical flowers such as hibiscus bloom year-round, delighting visitors with their vibrant contrast against the blue sea.
Taketomi Island Buffalo Cart Sightseeing

Located just 10 minutes by ferry from Ishigaki Island, this destination preserves the authentic, traditional atmosphere of Okinawa, characterized by coral stone walls, red-tiled roofs, and white sandy paths.
The highlight of the tour is the water buffalo cart. A specially designed cart that allows passengers to board while remaining in their wheelchairs is available (reservation required), ensuring a smooth experience without the burden of transferring seats.
As you leisurely tour the village at the buffalo's slow pace, you can listen to the melodies of the sanshin and traditional island songs performed by the driver. This experience allows you to fully immerse yourself in the relaxing "island time," healing both mind and body.
Kabira Bay

This is Ishigaki Island's most iconic scenic spot, having earned the highest rating of three stars in the "Michelin Green Guide Japan." The sea, known as "Kabira Blue," is said to change into seven different hues depending on the light, offering a breathtaking beauty.
While swimming is prohibited due to strong currents, visitors can enjoy the underwater world by taking a glass-bottom boat. Some boat companies operate vessels that are wheelchair accessible, allowing everyone to observe coral reefs and schools of tropical fish at close range without even getting wet.
Ishigaki Yaima Village

Located adjacent to the scenic spot "Nagura Amparu," Ishigaki Yaima Village is Japan's southernmost theme park where you can experience the rich nature and culture of Ishigaki Island. Traditional red-tiled private houses, registered as National Tangible Cultural Properties, have been relocated here, and visitors can step inside to explore their interiors.
The park is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring many flat paths that make it easy for wheelchair users to move around. A particularly popular attraction is the Squirrel Monkey Park. These friendly monkeys may even hop onto your shoulders, allowing you to enjoy a close-up encounter and the experience of feeding them.
