Tour highlights
Enjoy one of the world's most spectacular caldera views
We will guide you to Daikanbo, the highlight of sightseeing in Aso. Using a paved wheelchair-accessible route, you will be able to see the reclining Buddha statue (Nehanzo), one of the five peaks of Aso (※Due to some inclines, you will need to be accompanied by a caregiver or have support from staff).
Ensure safe toilets are a reliable route
To ensure there were no worries about travel or accommodation, we selected facilities (such as those around Kusasenri Parking Lot and roadside stations) that have ostomate-friendly and wheelchair-accessible "safe toilets" and planned a relaxed itinerary.
Visit the museum regardless of the weather
The Aso Volcano Museum is barrier-free and equipped with ramps and elevators, so you can enjoy the history of Aso's volcano and dynamic images in comfort even on rainy days.
Shopping and gourmet food at roadside stations
To conclude your trip, head to the well-equipped "Michi-no-Eki Aso." Enjoy a selection of Aso's unique specialties, such as fresh dairy products and Aka-gyu beef, in a comfortable, step-free environment.
⚠ Notes on use
This service is an optional service for customers who have made travel arrangements, such as accommodation, through Flat Travel. We do not accept standalone use of the nursing care taxi arrangement service. Thank you for your understanding.

Daikanbo (view)
Aso North

Located on the highest peak of the outer crater, Daikanbo is a spectacular spot that is an essential part of sightseeing in Aso, offering a panoramic view of one of the world's largest calderas and the Aso Five Peaks. The Aso Five Peaks seen from here are called the "Nirvana Statue" because they resemble the Buddha lying on his back, and depending on the season and time of day, they can appear as a fantastic sight floating in a sea of clouds.
[Accessibility Information]
From the parking lot to the main observation point, an asphalt-paved promenade has been constructed to be accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. However, as the area makes use of the natural terrain, there are steep slopes and some unpaved sections with rough road surfaces along the way. As it can be difficult to move around in a wheelchair independently, this tour assumes that a caregiver will accompany you. (If you do not have a caregiver, we can dispatch a caregiver.) Although it is a little far to reach the scenic spot, the magnificent scenery at the end will be so moving that you will forget the effort of getting there.
Kusasenrigahama Beach and Aso Volcano Museum

Kusasenrigahama is a vast grassland about 1km in diameter, overlooking the smoking Mt. Nakadake. The idyllic scenery of grazing horses is the very image that represents Aso. At the adjacent Aso Volcano Museum, you can observe the formation of Aso and the current state of the crater using a real-time camera, satisfying your intellectual curiosity.
[Accessibility Information]
Although the Kusasenri area is located in nature, it has made great efforts to consider accessibility. The public toilets around the Kusasenri parking lot have been designated as "safe toilets" by the prefecture, and are fully equipped with wheelchair-accessible booths, ostomate facilities, and diaper-changing stations. The Aso Volcano Museum is barrier-free, with an entrance ramp, elevators inside the museum, and wheelchair-accessible toilets. Wheelchairs are available for rental, assistance dogs are allowed, and an AED is also installed, so you can rest assured in case of an emergency. By combining walks with indoor tours, you can stay in a place that suits your physical condition.
Roadside Station Aso

The final stop on the tour is Roadside Station Aso, adjacent to JR Aso Station. It is a popular spot where you can find all the local specialties nurtured by Aso's natural beauty. There is a wide selection of attractive products on display, including soft serve ice cream and sweets made with Aso's rich milk, bento boxes made with the region's famous Akaushi beef, and fresh vegetables. This is the perfect place to pick out souvenirs to remember your trip.
[Accessibility Information]
The building has a flat floor and ample aisles, making it easy to browse products in a wheelchair. The restrooms include a spacious multi-purpose restroom, equipped with ostomate-friendly facilities, universal seats (large beds), and diaper changing tables. This facility is truly a "reliable base" where elderly people and people with disabilities can relax and enjoy shopping without worrying about others.
