Tourist attractions: Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park

The Atomic Bomb Dome is a World Heritage Site that conveys to the world the horrors of nuclear weapons. View it from the opposite bank of the Motoyasu River and pay your respects at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims located within the lush Peace Memorial Park. The park is well paved with few steps, making it easy to stroll around even in a wheelchair. It will be a memorable moment as you offer prayers for peace in the silence.

Tourist spot: Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine in Aki

Miyajima is one of Japan's three most scenic spots. Itsukushima Shrine, with its beautiful Shinden-zukuri style main hall built over the sea, is truly a spectacular sight. The shrine is becoming increasingly barrier-free, so even those in wheelchairs can pass through the corridors of this national treasure and worship there. After worshiping, you can enjoy the aroma of the famous momiji manju and grilled oysters in the bustling Omotesando shopping district, or interact with the adorable deer, another attraction unique to Miyajima.

Toyota Noah

The is compatible with wheelchairs boarding from the rear using a ramp (winch boarding), and the weight limit for each wheelchair is 200 kg. When one guide is on board, there are three options for the number of guests: one wheelchair and four regular seats (maximum of five), four regular seats only (maximum of four), or two wheelchairs lined up in a tandem with one regular seat (maximum of three). The three regular seats are arranged side by side.

Toyota Hiace (high roof)

Wheelchairs can board the lift from the rear, and here too the weight limit for each wheelchair is 200 kg. When one guide is on board, the number of guests allowed can be one wheelchair and four regular seats (maximum five), or four regular seats only (maximum four).

About the scope of support

The type of assistance and medical treatment that can be provided will vary depending on the driver's qualifications, but after a prior interview, you can choose a driver who is a licensed caregiver or nurse.In addition, for an additional fee, you can request a local tourist guide to accompany you and act as a tour guide.
